Hello Quo BBC Docu

Nice docu about the denim-clad popular beat combo, including interviews with some of their peers notably Joe Elliot from T'Def Lepperd, Paul Weller, and the Loui XIV stunt double Brian May. Although I'm not a huge fan of Status Quo I came away from watching this thinking: "D'yer know what, those lads are alright". Both Parfitt and Rossi came across as thoroughly bloody nice blokes.

I'm a massive fan of the song Pictures of Matchstick Men, and when the opening unusual-sounding notes came on it stopped my four year old in his tracks and he was glued to the old TOTP's footage. And as anybody who's had a four year old knows, stopping them usually involves a tranquilliser gun and a big net! So well done to the Mighty Quo!

Just realised, never seen 'em, Paper Plane on TOTP was a game changer for me. That guitar riff even got me to stop thinking of Wendy Wressel in 3A for a short while

Me neither, I've never felt the need to argue about Quo but in truth I never really understood all the 'clever' jibes against them, they have made some ace records and written some beauties too.  As a kid I had Rocking All Over the World single, one of my then guilty pleasures maybe (along with a couple of other embarrassing ones ) but then Whatever You Want came out a bit later and I just thought that was pretty damn good too, and Living On An Island.  My first ever holiday abroad was in Benidorm and I bought a few singles which had different sleeves to UK ones, those two Quo ones among them.
