Happy Valley

Second series starts next Tuesday On BBC1. One of if not the best British copper series ever. Close to home as well, a bit too close really.

I'd never seen this before, but I watched it on your recommendation. From your comment, I had expected that the programme would feature a lot of dog shagging. But it didn't. Thankfully.

Having misspent my youth by not taking media studies, I am underqualified to give a considered opinion. I guess it would be filed under "gritty Northern drama". As to whether or not it is worth watching again? I've set the series link to alert me to future episodes.

First series was good until the ridiculous last episode.

Thought Tuesday's first episode of the new series was pants, will give it another chance next week.

Wife loves it although she did say you have to have had watched the first series to understand the characters and continued story line of the 2nd series

Watched it and a few plot develoments are a little hard to believe. Will stick with it though. Nice to see the Wills pub getting a show but point of order, its in Meltham not Slaithwaite. Ace pub mind, especially in Summer when the Wills Fest gigs are on

Second one good but still a few of the plot twists defy reality. There was a thing on Five Live the other day about it being hard to hear. A lot of people who are enjoying it are complaining about the mumbled dialogue sound being hard to understand. Fecking racists
Late Doors

Won me over.Well paced, ace scenery (as you'd expect) and building to a calamitous finale next week Methinks. Great characters all round that really get you involved with them.

I like Sarah Lancashire's acting but following on from the earlier post about 'gritty northern drama', I find this genre a bit tiresome and SL is in danger of just getting typecast in this kind of thing. Haven't watched and won't be watching it. That is all.

PS Gritty Northern dramas were invented in Leeds. And Sarah Lancashire was. And Lancashire as well. Lancashire was invented in Leeds. As were salt of the earth football fans. And Billy being told by Don to take the lads to the Kop.............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
