Gravity

The film with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

It has to be said from the outset that I'm not a huge fan of Sandra Bullock and was genuinely hoping she'd die from the opening sequence onwards.

From a film standpoint, the special effects are obviously, well, special, but whoever was in charge of the plot (aaaargh!) and especially the physics (linear and especially angular momentum just don't "go away" so easily - ask any small child with a passing knowledge of Newton's Laws of Motion) need to be sent to join the Voyager heading in interstellar space. Using a fire extinguisher.

I know a bit of physics.

When mrs fc asks what my trainers are doing on the kitchen table I reply

'Nothing - they are in a state of rest. The downward force exerted by gravity on the trainers is exactly matched by the equal and opposite force of the table'.

Then she hits me with something.
