Glass bottle, bottle glass

Film about the Great Tommy Cooper tonight on ITV. Brilliant genius comedy but a troubled bloke. Read a couple of biographies and the man was a walking angst bomb. Should be Fab, got some hefty recommendations.

Remind me when we are next out LD to tell you a tiny anecdote about Tommy Cooper from the time he was doing a run of shows at Batley Variety Club where my Nan was the cleaner.

I'll watch this as I can't wait to see who they cast as the great man. There are two comedians who only had to appear on stage and I crack up. TC being one and Eric Morecombe the other.
Dalek

David Threlfall is cast as Tommy Cooper.

BTW, I am taking No1 son to see a "Tommy Cooper Show" live at the local theatre in May.  It will be either muck or nettles.

David Threlfall, out of Shameless, played Frank Gallagher. Can't remember his name.

David Threlfall, just remembered.
Heyho

I was uneasy about David Threlfall portrayal. Cooper was a cross between Sir Les Patterson and Vito Carleone.

there was no difference between his on stage character and the one in private. I've seen interviews with Cooper and this didn't look right.
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

I've had a check and the actor was David Thewlis who appeared as Frank Carragher in a programme called Shamed

Is David Therlfall in this?

The thing on the screen says you're a Dock, but it might be a typo.

Unrelated, but I went to a store selling live chicks for $1. I ended up buying hardware for my spectacular Jeep hard-top levitation exercise instead, but may go back just to look at' em.

They're cute, seasonal and, well, probably yummy.

That Tommy Cooper doesn't half do a good David Headfall impersonation.

Finally able to watch this last night, terrifically written and played, very poignant, not sugaring the man up at all and as good as TV with adverts formula allows. What a spot on performance from ooo jah what's his name from that thing on telly as well.

Other cameos as well from the peeps playing Eric Morecambe, Eric Sykes and  Les Denis were good as well. Great representation of the '60s and '70s circuit lifestyle as well when comedians were funny real people  doing real things in the same places real people were. All seems like some quirky but quaint egalitarian utopia where you half expect Bobby Moore to come into the pub with his boots hanging around his neck. Compare that with their modern day cosseted and segregated contemporaries.
