Generation War: Our Mothers, Our Fathers

Chap at Rotary mentioned this yesterday.

A three part series following the story of five German friends from 1941 to 1945.

Absolutely riveting. Made by Germans, it's well worth a watch for its depiction of the war from a German perspective. And it certainly doesn't shy away from depicting the atrocities committed by them.

It's in German with English sub-titles, but don't let that put you off.

There's only a couple of days left to watch episode 2 on the iPlayer. Episode 3 is on BBC2 on Saturday evening.

I'd recommend watching them in sequence if possible.

I found a stream of episode 1 split into 2 halves:

The second link doesn't look quite right. However, if you watch the first half then, if I remember correctly, there is a link to the second.

Edited to add that the second link is correct. Despite it being labelled episode 2, part 2, it is in fact episode 1, part 2. (I suspect that all episodes will probably ultimately be available from the same site.)

I've been following this, it's excellent. Forum Index -> Fishual Entertainment
