Fred Dibnah's Made in Britain

On Beeb2. Bit about Black Country mining and iron works. Thought a couple of you may be interested.

Is it a new series?

No.

Sadly, I suspect nothing new is made in the Black Country these days.

I used to like his mate Alf. Monosyllabic, taciturn, lugubrious. A role model for old gimmers everywhere.

I liked the series when he dug a mine is in his back garden. He wouldn't have got planning permission for that in Birdingbury.

Still makes me laugh watching him and Alf trying fire the arrow with the string on it over the branch and into the river.

Not quite sure why they were doing it.
Heyho

I wonder if they were doing a statue of David Hockney and decided to use it for Fred when he died.

We used to finish off some of our half pint runs in  there.

Does this bring back any memories gentlemen?

From my personal archive of tat.

A Mad O'Rourkes Pie Factory time card
