Curling

Sat with me Cornflakes and switched the tv on, and what am I presented with? Some dullards sweeping up at a frantic rate. Now on here in the past I've derided certain things that masquerade as sports. Namely Sailing, Golf, F1, to name but a few. But Curling??????????????????? WTF? No, really, WTF?

*switches channels*
Pond Life

It is a sport cos we have won medals for it, that makes it one of the noblest sports ever.
bearing

You tell him Pondyke!
grunt

Yeah, how many horse racing medals have we won in the winter olympics? Don't bother checking, the answer is none. Curling is the new sport of kings. Point well made.

Really and honestly this country has been crying out for a statue on the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square of a curler for decades.

I, for one, think it would be magnificent to see a 43 year old housewife from Arbroath, at the peak of her athletic prowess, honoured in this way. Shall we start a public subscription to get a statue made. A quarter of a million quid should be sufficient.

*Eddie - rip the wire off the old chicken coop, gather up Cook's collection of 'Lady' magazine and buy a few bags of Plaster of Paris. I've got a job for you*

Great work PM, TG got the il knitting needles out and just knocked this up...

Pond Life

I kept up with all last years events with my handy calendar.

Right, don't think he'd enjoy that, she'd have a problem staying positive for the team.
Pond Life

Google like it.

bearing

Google likes Forest, it's hardly a great institution.

I watched some of it yesterday, and I might be changing my mind about it. I was quite enthralled if I'm honest.

If that's sarcasm, it's quite good.
grunt

I believe we have some strong contenders in the freestyle ice-docking.

No pisstake intended. I especially like the move they do where they slide along with the stone, and are skating really low to the floor with their knee right up to their chin.

Yeah - great, isn't it?

And those with the brooms - make a manic housewife on speed look sedate.

Judging by the site and the responses to the question.....yes.
Pond Life

I'm very tempted to sign up and throw a lot of fish keeping questions at them. Or talk about perms.

controversial drama at the women 's curling final at the olympics.

someone 'accidentally' kicked one of the stones or whatever they are called and the brits lost because of it.

the british player looked furious but the team captain was philosophical -'that's curling', she said.
Butts

Does this mean Rhona's stint as a commentator has come to a premature curl?
sheeps
