Credit where credit's due .... and where it's not.

I guess the Danish league isn't Europe's best, but I (almost) enjoyed watching the youthful exuberance of Manchester United in their Europa League game yesterday.

I'm assuming Memphis isn't cute enough (Ronaldo lite?) to get past properly schooled defenders, but he looked reasonable for the first time and I've no real reason to dislike many more of the younger players that featured yesterday. I think Carrick is a classy player too. *

On a separate note, Liverpool were scabby to get through (Sturridge and Coutinho are quality. Sakho, Milner, Henderson and Clyne seem effectively "meh" enough. Most of the others aren't anything special) and I can't see that team amounting to anything beyond a cup team for the foreseeable future.

Arsenal were shown to be tactically inept in allowing the Suarez/Neymar/Messi triumvirate to counter-attack without adequate defensive cover late on, when a 0-0 would probably have been an excellent result to take to Barcelona. Bringing on a slower, older, overly aggressive and clearly not-up-to-speed holding midfielder so late in the game against the same three was suicide.

Maybe Wenger isn't the footballing brain he's made out to be.

No real idea why I'm posting this (I can't believe anyone's interested), but it beats doing the fecking income taxes.

* I'm going to give myself a right good kicking after this

Fair enough.

I'm now a little intrigued as to how the Man U v Arsenal game will pan out.

It will be interesting to see how brave or stupid the two managers will be in their team selections.

The pressure should be on Arsenal.

* Now I'm beginning to annoy myself. *

Lovely to see them Tottenham hotspurs doing so well as well. Fucking hell now you've got me at it

There's a lad (mid twenties?) here I often referee on Tuesday nights who's from Sheffield (quite recent too - I'm guessing he's been here a couple of years?) that has given me a hard time about supporting Leeds, yet I've seen him wear Chelsea and Man U shirts without any guilt.

He now claims to be a Sheffield United fan. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the other pair having tricky seasons......

I didn't see the Spurs game. Pocketfordcortina does seem to be one of the better managers they've had of late.

Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.

Go on then, if we must give credit where its due I watched Everton v Chelsea t'other day. What a superb Center forward that Romelu Lukaku is. Even Before he scored his first he was immense epitomizing everything a center forward should be.

Chelsea should consider buying him. Oh, wait....

Just watched Liverpool v Dortmund.

I'm never going to actively like 'em, but that was some comeback.

"Charisma?"
Grind

I should've used that joke in the competition.

I was probably scared of his face tattoos.

Congratulations  to Chelsea on winning the 2016/17 Premier League. Their rags to riches story is truly inspirational and the philanthropic altruism of the ownership representative of all that is good in the world.

Ooops sorry, wrong thread

I'd like to see Spurs win the league next year. They are the one Prem club that consistently brings through youngsters rather than just buying in talent. And it will make my mate Cliff very happy.

Sorry, lost me at like to see spurs win....
sheeps

And most definitely, me.
