Confederation Cup in Brazil

Some great football being played in this, a competition without the pressure.

Spain first half against Uruguay played some of the best International football I have ever witnessed. The mostly Brazilian crowd were breaking out into spontaneous applause at times.

Tahiti, great to see them and their shortcomings on the International stage, may be their first and last opportunity.

BBC3, tune in.
Late Doors

Saw the Tahiti Spain game and thought the Tahitians (  is that right?) played some good stuff, when they weren't picking the ball out of the net, chasing shadows and kicking the ball to a Spanish defender.

Another great game last night, Italy v Brazil.

Smart football and a couple of nice goals.

Watched the Italy Japan match the other night, marvellous match and I reckon the Japanese would stuff us!

I like the 8 team format, World Cup should do the same, stop you getting bored halfway through the tournament.

Are Italy through? I think they could sneak in and win it, need to sort the defence out.

I think the Japanese win put them through.

That Honda chap is a quality player, available on a free too.  Wouldn't be surprised to see him plying his trade here next season.

Brazil v Uruguay

Spain v Italy

Weds/Thurs on BBC 1 and 3

Watched Spain v Nigeria last night, yet another game I didn't feel inclined to turn off. 3-0 to Spain flattered them a little, Nigeria had several good chances with the score at 0-1. Eight Nigeria based players in the team and the youngest in the comp average age wise at 23. Look out for them in WC 2014.

He'll need to move up a gear.

Worst game of the comp last night, Brazil v Uruguay. Scrappy as fuck with poor technique for spells, balls bouncing off S American players, never heard of.

Uruguay missed an early pen which obviously might have made a world of difference as Brazil were struggling to put anything together. 2-1 to Brazil anyway, Spurs bound Paulhino scoring the winner.

Not an outstanding Brazil side, Spain to win the whole thing.

Agree, and people pay silly money for him.

Brazil 3 v 0 Spain

What do I know? I have given this comp a wide berth in past but now a fan.

Pretty even game barring the finishing, Xavi and Iniesta not firing on alll cylinders gave Brazil the chance, thought X n' I would tear em apart.

Best International comp I've watched in a long time.
