Classic supper

Fillet steak with peppercorn sauce, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms and home made chips. Yummy. Prefer a bit of sirloin myself, but it was a good eat.
Late Doors

Nice but sounds like tea to me? Whats the difference between Supper and Tea anyway? Supper suggests a bit of toast or cereal, just curiouse like but lets not even get onto the tea/dinner debate
Pond Life

I thought Tea would be cold food and supper would be hot.
Carp

In my mind tea is a light meal taken late afternoon.
Pond Life

Yes but in your mind Tizer is rubbish, why the fuck am i going to listen to you?
Carp

Because it is your forum and I am your guest so mind your manners fuck face
Pond Life

Carp

Dribble nipple? How's that then? Am  I weaning? No! If it's not your forum, then who does it belong to?  need to write them a strongly worded letter about your behaviour. I have a notebook you know!
Pond Life

I had a chicken marinating in all kinds of fragrant Indian spices since yesterday. Roasted them in a dry pan for a couple of minutes and then ground them up, combined them with lemon juice, salt and pepper and rubbed it all into every nook and cranny of the corn-fed bird - coriander, cumin, fenugreek, cloves, mustard seeds, cardomom, cinammon, chillies and fennel.

Just before cooking I cut the bird in half and then lay it in a roasting tin on top of some chopped onions, garlic and ginger and put it in a hot oven for 45 minutes. Once cooked I took it out to rest and stirred some water and yoghurt into the onion and garlic mixture to make a sauce.

Ate it with some rice and more yoghurt (with some mango chutney stirred through it).

I have to say it's the tastiest thing I've cooked all year.
Pond Life

We had chip sandwiches.
Tank Girl

they was yum

Getting back to LD's observation. I always used to think of supper as a later night snack. Cheese and biscuits, that sort of stuff.

An old drinking companion who had attended public school, and who was single and lived with "mummy", used to say he was going home for supper.....Which in my head was dinner.

I don't use the word supper in my real life. I am sorry. I was showing off.

*Pond Life is excuded from any apology both now and here after*
bearing

I like the fact that you had supper, what time was it served?
Carp

I don't know. That was yesterday.
Fin

For me Tea = main meal around 5/6pm.
Supper = Snack before bed.

That is all.
