Chappel (as in the famous viaduct)CAMRA Beer Festival

Going tomorrow for the afternoon. Its held at the East Anglian Railway Museum in Chappel. Brilliant venue to host a Beer Fest. Think that this will be the 28th year. They use the old engine sheds as bars and are stacked out with barrels of lovely Real Ale.
You can even go and sit outside in some of the old carriages that they have there. And the joy of it is that part of the station is still in use so i can get a train from where i live there and back!
Hardcore Ale drinkers that are there for the weekend can camp in a little field right next door. How cool is that!
Im afraid that im not that Hardcore!

Sounds brilliant. Just be careful who you talk to. There's some right odd balls on them does

The ones that i know of will be safely away in t'Yorkshire.
Plastic Man

That sounds like a great set up.

Advanced warning for potential attendees of the Otley beer festival.  This year it's on Friday 14th & Saturday 15th November at the rugby club.

It appears that Leeds United are not playing at all that weekend, so that excuse is out the window.

Copious quaffing of ales and a massive viaduct.

What could possibly go wrong?

What's the excuse when Reggies just ignore invitations then?

Book launch (off a viaduct?).

Funny you should mention that (book launch) Grind.  Not that I'm bitter

Brilliant afternoon was had and cant say that i can remember any of the names of the beers that were consumed apart from one which was called 'Stonehenge Pig Swill'. Was a beauty of an ale regardless of the name! Not just being able to drink some great ales for the afternoon the setting for the festival is fab.
That and being accompanied by a beautiful Essex gal, friend of mine and her Swedish sister in law seemed to top off the whole day!
Tried some Scorpion Chilli Chocolate from a stall there and must say that if ever you get a chance to do the same just say NO! Its just not right.
Forest

Nice report Badger, photos of the Swedish sister in law would be appreciated.

You lot do make me wonder at times you really do!

I'd be okay with the viaduct in the background.

Went to the Winter Beer Fest here a few weeks back.
Wasnt a s big or as good as the summer bash that they have but was still worth an afternoon sampling some quite nice beers.
There did seem to be some disgruntled punters saying that CAMRA were concentrating on better known Ale producers rather than some of the micro brewers.
Fook knows as i hadnt heard of most of them.
Left here and went to my girlfriends  sisters pub in Colchester where my dog was attacked by some homeless guys Staffie that wandered in the pub by itself. Cunt doesnt keep it on a lead and lets it do its own thing! Nothing too serious but still a 60 vet bill for me to pay..

Still waiting for these naked photographs.
