Bradford City

Bloody well done lads, tuned in with twenty minutes to go and couldn't believe my eyes.

Cheered em on right through the penalties, I know they hate Super Leeds but what the hell, Yorkshire team, underdog n' all that.

CAPITAL ONE CUP FINAL

BRADFORD CITY v LEEDS UNITED
Grind

Lets hope it doesn't go to penalties though - that's the ninth (or something like that?) one they've won on the trot.
Kingmaker of Lilliput

Yes the one thing missing from Leeds United's history is a humiliation by a 4th division team at Wembley....
Frazier Cranium

If Bradford played like that every week they'd be strolling div 4 and will be meeting us in the league sooner than hoped/feared
Late Doors

Bollocks to 'em. A no mark club with a bigger percentage of dick head sad fans than any other. THE one club i would happily see smashed out of existence.

Having said that i''ve met a few decent fans over the years, well, three anyway.
Grind

The last Leeds game I went to was against Bradford.

I think the above description could easily describe LU and it's fans. Well done to T'Banams last night. great to see a Yorkshire club doing well. I think they "could be one of the major players in Europe". If that last quote can be used for a bunch of wallys like Leeds United in another thread on Reg then its good enough for any other team. I hope all the Bradfordians who make the trip down to Wembley have a grand day out. 10/10

You know the only thing spoiling it was Harry 'fucking' Gration with his smug, patronising face poppong up everywhere. C**t of the first order that man.
Frazier Cranium

Didn't see him on Sky at all!  Easy way to avoid him, Heyho, don't fcking watch Look North

Villa were very good first half, and very shite the second.

Good facts. Here's another one. Bradford City are very close to winning a trophy. Leeds United are not. Well done Bradford!

I only watch the progam to see if a certain 'Author and Leeds United fan' is on it so my son can say 'god he's corny'

Actually saying that the son spends most his time in his bedroom now. He must have found out what his right hand is for.

Flicking V's through the wall at his miserable get of a Dad?
Nyles O Cranium

Sieg Heiling?

Dock, anpther football fact for you - MOST teams don't win trophies  We were closer to winning this cup than man united were.  And that means a lot eh

You and LD with your "Villa were shite" and Bradford are "a no-mark club" etc etc bobbins etc bollocks. They won their round and the previous rounds so they are going to Wembley yer petty toerags and that is all there is to it. If it had been LU in the same position it would be all "back where we belong" and "we were great, we deserved to beat Villa". From being out of the stupid bubble of supporting a club its only when looking in at supporters comments when you realise how deluded and bereft of rationality they are. Its like the fact that insane people dont actually realise they are insane. You are a big bunch of childish bummers. End of update.
Kingmaker of Lilliput

I'm pleased for them, I'm always pleased when a club gets in the record books other than the usual shite suspects. There is only one club that doesn't have the short term potential to have its day in the sun, can you guess who?
Heyho

It means that football still has its little miracles that are the dreams that kids and adults alike aspire to when they watch or kick a football.

Without those dreams football will quickly become the stale money orientated business that Manure, Chelsea and the like have made it.

Some slight mischief and misquoting going on there Dock old chum, I'm glad Bradford won and have made history, and they deserved the win because for a good 75% of the two games they were the better team.
Nyles O Cranium

But there is no point denying that Villa WERE shite in the second half because they were.  They are also a Prem team whilst Bradford are in div 4 which makes it even more impressive an achievement.
Dock

Don't "old chum" me. Bloody hooligan.
Nyles O Cranium

Sorry luv.

very pleased for them. They can't play any worse than we did in 199 whateveritwas

Hmmm . I'll consider being grown up about it.

no fuck em, c'mon you wonderful Welsh wizards, do 'em.
Y'see that is the beauty of the world's greatest sport and the best game on the planet. There is room for the irrational and emotive. If there wasn't it'd be as dull as all those other ordinary sports where analysis, facts, statistics and detachment are the order of the day.
Heyho

I put the 6pm News on (at 6pm may I add and not 6:30pm) and whose ugly face popped up with his smug look camped outside the BCFC ground - Harry 'f'ing Gration. Is there no getting away from that intolerable man.
Dock

I don't mind Harry me. I enjoy his enthusiasm. Even when he talks about something like cricket which would normally bore the bejesus out of me. His passion for some sports is very entertaining and informative.

You missed 'gimmick's'

'Big fucking Bash' being one of the latest. Which fucking air head thought of that. Demeans the sport.

Come on City by the way.

Did you see that little *blows dust off, lifts lid of the welsh section, scans for lurking Welsh eyes*

C'mon you mighty City Gents. Do'em

I predict a City win.

Is this the first ever cup final between two teams whose nicknames are are birds?
Grind

No. Probably.

The Dalai Lama has sent his best wishes to Bradford City ahead of the League Two club's League Cup final against Swansea City.

The Tibetan spiritual leader was made an honorary president of the team last year while he was at a conference in Leeds.

The 76-year-old's representatives have now sent fundraising group Friends of Bradford City a letter of support as the side prepares to take on Swansea at Wembley Stadium later this month.

The message reads: "He remembers his time in Yorkshire with great affection and wishes you every success in the big match."

The League Cup final between Bradford and Swansea takes place on February 24.

The Owls Beat those Red bustards in the same competition.

Good vibrations going out to Bradford and all the Bradfordians who are counting the sleeps until their big day. Take no notice of the Bitter little LU knobbers whose closet look at any silverware in the next ten years will be the five and ten pences in their pockets.
grunt

Leeds will win the Prem within 3 years because we're a massive club and Sergeant Warno is the new special one so JUST SHUT UP!

*storms to other side of room, sobbing*

Good luck to Bradford, they might well need it.

Best wishes and Respect to Bradford 56

If it was Leeds that had been thrashed 5 nil Bradford fans would be taking the piss forever,  so fuck em.
Cutsyke

They looked tired early didn't they?
sheeps

Result never in doubt but well done to Bradford and their supporters. Unbelivable considering the teams they knocked out.

Nice touch from Swansea forming the guard of honour.
Frazier Cranium

Bradford can take the piss as long as they like from division 4

I don't remember Billy Bremner ever playing for them though, do you?  Still, Bradford haven't got a statue of a player we could put a Leeds shirt on anyway, as far as I know, so it's nice they hold our Billy in such high esteem, the fuckwits
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

Anyone who knows that blighted unlucky city knows that a tonking a la Barnstoneworth United was always on the cards
Nyles O Cranium

To be completely fair about it, I would have expected Leeds to be similarly towelled if playing Swansea in a final, I've nowt against Bradford when they're not in our division..
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

mate who went on facebook last night: "Never been so proud of a shitter bunch of bastards"
Late Doors

Ooooooh unlucky lads,

fuck it, I've had enough of pretending to like em   .

Quote:
eeeh we've a right good day out, sung us hearts out and done us proud.

No you haven't, you got hammered in a final at Wembley like we did when you rejoiced. Not only did you let yourselves down you let Yorkshire down and you let the rest of the country down. Maybe in 90 years or so when your next appearance is due you'll get a another chance, until then, enjoy the fourth division.

I went to the Mansfield away game, me.
fartcatcher

okay - so most of the city looks like it would be improved by having a commode emptied over it, but I'm really pleased at what the football club has achieved.
Like Donny, they were down and out a few years ago, but sensible management and a strategy that involved commitment from the fans has underpinned their success.
I think the whole team cost about 15k.
Dock

WTF!!! Well done BC. Onwards and upwards!
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

They talk about comebacks from 3-0 down and the 'miracle of Istanbul' but that IS a footballing miracle for a team assembled for 7500 from Division One to beat the Premiership leaders and former European champions at home, who were assembled for 200m after being 2-0 down and then add the icing of a fourth in stoppage time.....

Unbelievable Jeff!

And they deserved it

Jon Stead. One goal two assists. Great day for a guy who's been plying his trade round the lower divisions for a decade.
