Belgian Beers

Holy Moses I think I have discovered Heaven in a glass, In particular a 33cl one. Westmalle Triple, A ridiculous 9.2% strength but enough creamy peach top end punch with a hoppy balance and complex body to deliver it with a right smack in the mouth. Absolutely brilliant stuff. Near to it is something called La Chouffe. Never heard of the latter before these last 9 days in Belgium but by golly they were good. I'm not usually one for high strength beers. They very rarely punch their weight but these two were amazing.

Tried quite a few different beers as well but these two were the standouts. Got to confess to enjoying a couple of fruity Krieks and other Lambics as well.  Anyone else got any to recommend any other continental brews?

Anybody mentioning that well advertised muck Belgian cooking ale on this thread gets put straight on the naughty step.

It sounds nasty, but a few of the brewers here stick blueberries into their pop at this time of year.

I only tried them because, well, I hadn't and they work for me in the summer heat, but I'll probably hate them when the weather closes in.

The krieks have Cherries in them which also sounds disgusting but in the right cimate it works. You could put Cat Dung in Bud and it would improve it. Presume you mean the better micro brew stuff.

Yes - smallish breweries like Shipyard or, with a little higher production, Samuel Adams.

We play our home games at the Budweiser brewery in Merrimack.

It doesn't smell good either......

On a recent trip to Amsterdam we came across this little beauty:

We decided to give it a miss

I particularly enjoy a Juliper when we are in Belgium. Did you come across it? Did it for me.

That beer we are not to mention is well down the pecking order amongst Belgians. Marketing again, well if Mc D can sell the shit they dole up.
