Luciano Becchio on the other hand is a 75 league goals in 190 league games LUFC legend who I wish the best of luck to after he gets royally shoed out by our "no pot to piss in" alleged owners.....
carp

I must update my legend appraisal.
fartcatcher

I'm surprised he's stayed as long as he had. Must have a stiff neck after the amount of time he's spent watching the ball come down this season.

The sort of player we love. Strong, determined, a bit of skill but no fancy stuff.

No obvious replacement. What now Colin?
carp

He is a Championship striker at best. Get the odd game higher up. Fuck hiim. and as for our ownership......If you don't like it don't go.....Talk the talk.!

No, talking the talk is no good, you need to walk the walk. It's basic mathematics.

Another plucked from obscurity [Beckford, Snodgrass] to fuck us off.

Don't blame him on a couple of levels, one, his age, he needs to make a bit of cash sharpish and two, Leeds lack of ambition.

See ya!
Frazier Cranium

Yeah bless him, he's on at least 700k a year, how does he manage.  All that hard graft he sometimes puts in too.
sheeps

I don't have a problem with anyone taking their skills elsewhere for more money. My gripe is the club do fuck all to keep em, and I'm not talking about throwing money at them which would help of course but just the total malaise surrounding Leeds United.

No published plan for the club from our new owners.

The manager, what are his and the clubs plans regarding his future. He came for two years with the intention of getting us in the PL, is that still the case, is he going in the summer?

No wonder folk are voting with their feet, including the players.

Nigel Adkins for Huddersfield Town? Perfect opportunity for us to pick up a half decent manager, will it happen?
Frazier Cranium

Totally agree there Sheeps, but bluntly speaking, any player who chooses to leave 'my' club purely for financial reasons, can feck right off for me anyway.

But but but, this is all conjecture on all our part because only a few significant people really know what's going on, with Becchio's thinking, with the new owners' aims, ambitions (and accounts, if any) not to mention the manager's, and WHO that manager will be for next season.  I've been saying similar about Adkins too, get him in here in place of Warnock.

I've argued with plenty of people about Warnock, some seem to blame him for everything wrong at the club.  But by now, I expected the club and team to be in a better shape and THAT is definitely down to him in a big way.  No excuse for players being shite and that does include Becchio on occasion.  I'd still preferred he stay though
Late Doors

29 year old, one last lucrative three year contract, it's a common story. Is he worth what he is asking for? cant answer  that unless you know what he is asking for. He's been a good player with limitations. In our box defending and in the opposition box pouncing on chances he's been brilliant, His box to box link up  play and off the ball running started as decent went poor and is currently appalling, has been for three seasons now. Good luck to the lad but i like to think we can do better
Grind

We can, but are unlikely to.
fartcatcher

19 goals this season not bad for someone who's playing shit.

Think he's probably got fed up of scraping the ice off his car and is heading south.
Dock

Why would he want to leave a club who are "one of the last few sleeping giants of world football". He must be mad!
lmfao.gif
Frazier Cranium

How's your hero Alan Smith doing these days, Dock?

* fucks off sharpish*
smiling badger

I think that he's been a good player for us and without him who would have been sticking the ball in the back of the net for us over the last few seasons?
Good luck to the boy, why the fuck would you want to hang around at a club like Leeds, selling all the decent players they have, not showing an ounce of ambition..
There is no loyalty from players towards clubs this day and age. If hes being offered better money else where then its a no brainer, hey.
And who could blame any player for that?

Don't get it Codge? AS is no hero of mine. You might have me mixed up with someone else bud.
Nyles O Cranium

Apologies, I thought you used to praise him a bit, something to do with his man u career.  It's bad enough when a joke's not funny, but when it's not even right then that's shit and I will self-flagellate later this afternoon for the sin!

Re Becchio, I suspect it's not just about money, this was supported by the hasty official club statement to say it IS about money.
smiling badger

Even if its not money, why would you want to play at a club with no ambition?
Perhaps he knows more about our new owners than ourselves?
Not a pot to piss in..
Nyles O Cranium

Rumours they're skint, rumours they're definitely not skint, statement in August from bates that solid transfer plans were being made for January.  I don't have a fecking clue about the money situation but I do know that a club's ambition or lack of wouldn't affect how I played, I'd always give my all for the team.

I've no qualms about a player wanting more money but I can't be arsed even bothering about a player who tries to cover it up by citing other reasons.  I might well be naive but the new owners have been here less than two months, I can't see everything that's wrong being their fault, and I still don't get a sense that we're being mugged by them.  Nonetheless, actions speak louder than promises and we haven't seen many from them yet.
Cutsyke

I'm at that stage where I just don't know what to think about matters at Elland Road anymore. When you're lied to too many times it gets hard to believe anything you're told.

On a footballing level, I don't think we will find anyone to replace him who will score as many goals. In the unlikely event that we do, we'll sell him.
Grind

Nyles O Cranium

Swapping him for Morison plus some cash, that's the strong rumour at the moment.  I'd prefer he stay but that ain't happening, but the only reason I'd prefer him to stay is because it's yet miore upheaval at the club, especially if he leaves for there.

I know the stats say he has done well this season but being honest, I've seen most of his games and he HASN'T been impressive many times.  Good luck to him, I mean that, but I'd like a replacement who is also decent in the air, can finish with either foot and who does look interested in every game, we've not seen that from many if any of the players of late.
Nyles O Cranium

Except cup games of course, how stoopid of me
Late Doors

There is no way the lad is Prem. Mindst i said that about Bradley J as well.
Grind

As someone said elsewhere, Leeds could end up being relegated from the Premier League before they've even got there.........

I'm thinking of having a bet on LU getting relegated to League One before they get promoted out of the championship. I'd be interested to see what odds I would get.
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

I went back for the first 'GFH' game against Boro before Christmas and we werent very good and losing. He took that game by the scruff of the neck and bossed Woodgate and his mates.

His equaliser just before half-time was a fucking beaut that i dont think anyone else left at the club could score save McCormack.

I was sat with my friends a few rows behind the away dugout in the West Stand paddock.

He ran half the pitch to scream his celebration just in front of where we were in primal power and delight. He fucking LOVED playing for Leeds then and I believe has for a longtime.
I swear he fucking eyeballed about 100 of us fans in a prolonged celebration

He then went and got the winner in the second half with a header of courage and unerring accuracy. Pure class - the difference between failure and success

I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE HE GENUINELY WANTED TO GO

He has been forced out, dropped, slagged off in public, touted around

GFH, Bates, Harvey, Jones and Warnock are totally duplicitous cunts.

Becchio is more Leeds in his little left toe than that set of carpetbaggers, assetstrippers, and green eyed monstrous BCFC, SUFC and Chelsea freakbastards ever fucking will be

Meet the new boss- same as the old boss

I wont get fooled again
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

and what happened to these bids from foreign clubs LUFC board softened us up with before he was flogged to Norwich

I'll tell you what - they were pure lies to begin with
Frazier Cranium

For the record, that header he scored with 'unerring accuracy' was deflected in

I'm pretty shocked by all this but his own agent's statement said he does love Leeds but he's thinking of his future etc etc.

And also for the record, he has been shite too often this season, he might well love it here but he hasn't shown much commitment in some of his games, but that most certainly can be said of them all.
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

If 17 goals by the end of January in a team that cant create chances is an on/off shite season for him then he would be a world beater in a good season where he got some service
Nyles O Cranium

For all his qualities - and if you haven't realised I would prefer we don't sell him - he has struggled to keep on his feet this season, when he's on his feet he often would struggle to trap a sack of spuds, and there are some matches which I have been unfortunate to witness where he has looked about as interested in grafting as I would be in watching a whole series of Big Brother.

And if a team struggles to create chances - he has missed a few too but it is true we are shite - then better strikers work that bit harder to hunt out chances.

I hope he does really well at Norwich and that they get relegated too

well lets see who they replace him with

knowing Harvey, Warnock et al as we do I strongly doubt it will be anyone any better
Nyles O Cranium

IF we replace him!

Nyles O Cranium wrote:

we have just swapped a striker who's scored 17 goals for us this season for one who scored 12 in 85 games
Nyles O Cranium

Not that I've done it or could be arsed to think about doing it, but his goals/game ratio is as good as Becchio's in the lower divisions, and he has scored 10 in the Prem league, supposedly the best league in the world.  And we got a few pence in return too.

Becchio put in a transfer request, doesn't seem like he was forced out to me, especially when he was the highest paid player at the club.

You forgot to mention that Morison will miss this Saturday's game because he's injured
fartcatcher

Like for like swap?

Presumably Hughton must have told Morison that he was no longer wanted.
Haven't seen him play except on the telly, but he hasn't looked out of place.

I'm not sure how long he'll hang around. Once he's played a few of games and watched the ball sailing over his head......

Wish Becchio the best of luck. Not sure he'll make it in the Prem though.
sheeps

Johnson has.
