BASTARD!

The 20-1 outsider 'Zacinto' that I backed got beaten by a nose in The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes by the favorite 'Rip Van Winkle' yesterday at Ascot. Thats a quid I'll never see again.

I know nothing of racing.

Does this mean that HRH sponsors it.

Frankly, no. But HRH did have some horses running yesterday FC. I think the name comes from a bygone era of when naming races, or anything for that matter, after Royals, gave it a bit of gravitas like.

I take it you put your pound on the nose?

Frankly, yes. was going to take it each way, but only four horses were running so they only pay out on first.

Popular race then?

Anyway in a four horse race how on earth does a horse get odds of 20-1?

The bookies are asking for trouble.

A huge race actually. Prize money = £141,000 for the winning stable. Odds are more complicated than how many horses are running in the race T'B. I'll explain/bore you to death about it next time we meet.
Grind

I saw some pig racing on Saturday.

No. Really.

I know it's a bit more complicated, but still 4 horses and 20-1.  What were the rest of the field?

If I remember correctly:

Delegator ridden by Frankie D. 11-6

Rip Van Winkle ridden by Johnny Murtagh. Evens

Aqleem ridden by Richard or Michael Hills (soz, can't remember which brother it was). 5-1

And mine which was Zacinto ridden by Ryan Moore. 20-1

Top horses with top Jocks.
