Anger is an Energy - John Lydon

First of my Christmas present books (Ta Mrs D). Quite enjoyable. No great new insights into the Pistols story and obviously the majority of the book is about PIL. Main targets for attack namely Malcolm McLaren and Keith Levene. I enjoy hearing and reading JL's suspicions of institutions and the state but it's nothing I can't work out for myself. I'm not an aficionado of PIL and don't know their music but I would recommend this book to anybody who has an interest in the band and it's internal politics and line up changes. I actually closed the book twenty pages before the end as he started repeating points that had he already covered thoroughly and I thought to myself 'Enough'. He tries to come across as humble but at the same time there is plenty of self aggrandising as well. An ok read, but not essential.

Late Doors

PIL's music is as influential as the Pistols if you ask me, i know y... i listen to it still and find new bits, ace stuff. ive never forgiven him for the butter ads although he's always worth a listen and now a holiday read. cheers

I thought this thread might be about the counter-culture american satanist and film-maker Kenneth Anger

I bought the John Lydon book after Christmas to read when I am travelling in January.

You're getting confused with the book about the above named film-maker branching out into residential electric and gas supply........Anger is an Energy Provider.
