71

Storyline is about a young squaddie who gets separated from his troop at the height of the Northern Ireland troubles and has to get back to base.

Not bad except didn't they have phones (land line) in those days.

Also why is there about a 30 second clip of the quarry at the Nosters looking down at St. Anthonys soccer pitch and ER conveniently not shown. The rest of the film is filmed in Liverpool and somewhere else.

Look Dock. If he is in that pub in a 'safe' protestant area I'd be asking to borrow a shilling and headed for the pay phone. Or ask to use the one in the pub.

I suspect he did not know where the feck he was, safe or unsafe.

Exactly! A young squaddie scared shitless. But Heyho wouldn't be scared. What with all his special ops training.

Listen. I know your cycle route to work lad. One of those cycle clips could so easily get caught up in yer spokes.

And anyway I've watched enough Bear Grylls to reckon I am fully versed in the art of survival thank you very much.

I overheard that twat Richard Madeley on Radio 2 on Sunday morning, sycophancing about the Queen.  He actually praised her for being 'a survivor'.  I nearly puked my own spleen I was so enraged.

A film about the army, Queen and country, Richard Madeley the terrorist of the airwaves, definitely the right thread.

RM trying to find his way out of the staunch republican streets of Belfast with some Partirdgeesque approaches to locals asking for directions would make a great half an hour of telly, er, ok then, a great five minutes of telly.

Even better on the radio, unplugged radio
