'Together Leeds' meeting, this Saturday 24 Jan.

To any Reggies genuinely interested in listening to this matter, I apologise for not posting this much earlier.  If you don't frequent any LU forums then you might have missed all of this.  Below is a gist of what's been going on in the last 4 weeks, put simply and in a 'rallying call' to Leeds fans who post on that specific LU fans forum.  Please ask me if there's owt you want to know about this.  Take the piss too if you feel the need, I'll just ignore it

Together Leeds - Meeting, this Saturday 24 January.

All, just a reminder that if not able or wanting to attend the meeting down at Leeds Sports Centre (used to be Soccer City) on Saturday, you can still register to actually tune in on the Broadcast.

It's the same address to register to Attend too - togetherleeds@mail.com

Which happens to be the same address to send your video too, if you'd like to - which will then be a part of the full compilation of such clips shown at the meeting and probably afterwards on YouTube etc.

Please note that you don't have to be supporter of Together Leeds' aims to register, the meeting (and the Broadcast of course) is to be used to try and convince any doubters that we are serious, we are genuine, we as a group are transparent and the aims, targets of the group are clear.

We are not anti Cellino, this isn't about him, it's about Leeds fans uniting and not in-fighting and back-biting. If it's to be seen as 'anti' anything then it is GFH we're gunning for, and we can do it. The Meeting will be informative and very enlightening, I'm quite sure of that.

And of course, We Are Leeds
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

I'll be there in spirit and don't doubt the group's good intentions

Thank you, Sir BC.

I originally thought this was a great idea and in a romantic way still do. It's been done by some clubs throughout the world. But in general some clubs aren't Leeds with the hidden financial complexities it no doubt has. I could also see issues of a truly 'United' 25% fan base membership working.

I feel that the efforts (which I fully appreciate) from fans and backers would be better spent racking up the air miles looking for a rich Russian, Arab or Yank who could get the 75% + 1% needed to take full control.

I do genuinely though wish everyone well.

This hasn't been done at other clubs, H.  We've looked at the successful ones - Dortmund, Barcelona, Madrid, Swansea even, but this situation and any solution would differ in a number of ways.

As you say, the situation at LU is different and therefore a fan ownership solution would be different from the off.  Plus the rules as imposed by the FA etc here, and the regulations covering share ownership and the like, mean that a new and original approach is required.  And that's what will be covered at the meeting.  Clverer men than I, with big business experience and accountancy nous, have devised a plan.

GFH, 25% owners, are the important obstacle at the moment.

Good luck, you will need it. I still think the target should be 75+1
Frazier Cranium

The first target HAS to be GFH, for a number of reasons

But fighting fire with fire. You get rid of GFH (potentially replaced by more management consultants and a sprinkling of fans for good measure) and find you can only get hold of 20% because Uncle Ken et al still have their fingers in the pie.

You know me OC I'm naturally a glass half empty person.
Frazier Cranium

Don't mind you being realistic, but those stats aren't right H.

And realistically, 75% is too much £ to raise in what might be a short space of time.  Also, there is no indication that Cellino wants to sell, there is at least a suggestion the others are.

Even if Uncle Ken owned 0.5% its a deciding vote.

I don't know the exact figures but it can only succeed if you get the full 25% given the voting rights and can it be said GFH own all the 25% and does Cellino own all the 75%
Frazier Cranium

A deciding vote on what?
Frazier Cranium

Together Leeds' project leader Dylan Thwaites is interviewed by Adam Pope and it should be on the BBC Radio Leeds show tonight from 6. It does depend though, as a lot of news seems to be happening today connected to the club, and it's not just a LU show

My understanding was that the change in voting structure after the last admin farce meant that a 25% vote in any club matter could veto what the majority (75% if we are to believe that) shareholder puts forward.

So if fans get 24.5% and Uncle Ken keeps a little up his sleeve it gets interesting
Frazier Cranium

I wouldn't know either way, all I'm interested in at the moment is gunning for GFH.

probably has all the answers, plus what went on at the meeting.  Worth a visit or three

Is it true Keith Floyd aka Cellino has first choice on GFH's shares?
Frazier Cranium

i think it is yes.  Is it not answered on the site?

Not sure he can do anything when he is banned or, for that matter, if he's in jail.
Frazier Cranium

the group that took on the Together Leeds name from Mike Farnan & co, has achieved one of its first objectives, that of setting in motion a pukka initiative involving Leeds fans and purchases of 'stakes'.

It's called Leeds Fans LLP, as above, and a huge amount of work has been done and is being done, to officially establish the group and make sure everything is legally, financially, morally correct and 'watertight'.

I'll post news and articles on here, and please by all means beat me to it if you like.

If you have any questions or suggestions (polite ones please ) or want to read more about all that has been achieved in just 5 weeks, then the TL message board is still operating http://togetherleeds.boards.net/
