'Peaches - A Chronicle of The Stranglers, 1974 to 1990'

V pleased to announce that Leeds' branch of Waterstone's (93 Albion Street) are hosting the book launch of 'Peaches - A Chronicle of The Stranglers 1974 to 1990' on Friday 25th July from around 6.45pm to 8ish.

I know most on here won't be able (or want ) to attend but the invitation is there for you all folks.

There'll be a bit of wine and beer, and with luck the audience won't need to hear me do a long reading as there'll be interview questions and the like
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

Is this your new book then? I will try and make it
Frazier Cranium

Yes R, it is, sorry I didn't even notice anyone had replied!

It's looking like it will be a quiet launch as hardly anybody, if anybody at all, has bought a ticket.  Maybe there's a lesson there to Waterstone's ie DON'T CHARGE FOR TICKETS THEN

Whoever will be there, it will be good to see em and, with luck, we will all (or both ) have fun.

And beer before, during and after the event!
Plastic Man

Will you be retiring to Whitelocks afterwards for refreshments?

Good piece that Rob. Succinct, informative, and a clear statement of intent regarding writing the book. I love the pic. The furrowed brow and stroke of chin suggest an internal dialogue of "Twix or Kit Kat?".

Point of order re: A band can't be your favourite unless you were around to buy the records or see them live. Does that apply to all art. Francis Bacon is my favourite painter but I wasn't born when he did all his major works. Do I have to pick somebody else as my favourite?

Anyway ta for posting. It provided a break from my study day in the uni library researching Generative Theory, Anti-Psychiatry, and the failings of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. FFS is it home time yet?

There is a glint in my eye, well both eyes, which was supposed to be telling the viewer that I am not taking this being photographed-lark seriously, but I think I just look knackered

No, you are welcome to like any artist at all you want to like or favour.  But if anyone asked you who your fave band was, and you answered with a long extinct band, it just feels odd don't you think?  That's all I was meaning.  But what the heck, it was just a sentence, not even a lyric or in a book
Grind

I'm not entirely sure of my favourite band, although The Stranglers are far from a bad choice.

Based on what usually comes up on my shuffle thingummy, I suppose mine must be between Radiohead, The Smiths and Morcheeba.

* Probably needs to get out more. *
Frazier Cranium

Hardly ever heard a thing by Morcheeba, which says aplenty about me too.  Bloody loads of artistes I've hardly had chance to enjoy, lots mentioned on here and the previous place, some of them would shock you I say, shock you.

Just watched an interview on Made in Leeds channel with Frazier/OldCodger/NewCodger

Hope you don't need counseling as a consequence.

There was no warning or anything beforehand.

*complains to Ofcom*

Is it available on YouTube? It can't be any worse than the damning footage of our resident foodie Mr. Butts. I hope the make-up artists managed to dampen the glare from Codge's bonce.

*puts shades on in case*

As if you'll go to the trouble of actually watching, or attending book launches
