Just acquired a a pair for the NE Patriots' 2014 season, although they will remain in a mate's name for the time being at least.

* I've definitely been here too long

They're decent seats, so they're not cheap.

$2735 for the pair, which covers two pre-season games and the eight regular season games.

I get first dibs on any post-season (i.e. play-off) tickets.

Pricey, given that I paid GBP4k for twenty years for my Leeds season ticket.......

So about 1600 for the pair; ignoring the pre-season games, about 100 quid per person per game.

Given that some college games charge more for a seat, I guess that is par for the course.

How coveted are Patriots' season tickets?

Any home games at Wembley this season? (Given the regular season provides only 8 home games, having one of them played at Wembley must really piss some teams off.)

The opposition teams are already decided, but the exact schedule hasn't been put together yet.

Season tickets seem quite hard to get, so it's fairly normal for people to hold onto theirs and farm individual tickets off to others - I've often sat in these seats for the three or four games I usually go to.

We shall see if I end up going to all of the games (I doubt the Grindstress will go to that many), but I might be able to use them for schmoozing purposes.

I've never quite got into the whole college sport mentality here, even though the games are often of a high level and, in some cases, better supported than some of the major league teams.

It's quite funny when people find out that I played first team "soccer" when I was at university. I know a couple of players during my years ended up briefly playing for the likes of Derby and Villa, but we all know it's got virtually no ties to the professional game.

A different way of doing things, I guess.

There was snow on the seats yesterday, so the Grindstress wasn't best pleased.

The Patriots did at least give the Broncos a good, errr, horse-whipping, which, to be honest, wasn't what I was expecting.

I'm picking up more of the subtleties each time I go, but I reckon it'll be another twenty years before I understand it at an equivalent level to "proper" football.

I doubt any of you will be over here, but I will (probably) have a couple of extra seats for the final game of the regular season in December against Buffalo.

Saw a bit of the Wembley game on tv here. Had to laugh when the presenter was interviewing one of the cheerleaders asking for her opinion of how she saw the game going. I'll see what i can do about popping over in December.
