The Wall is going to be played at Fenway Park in Boston (the local rounders arena).

It sold out in about seven minutes this morning and I couldn't even blag a $250 ticket online, let alone one of the $40 ones I was really hoping for.

Fucksox.

Saw RW's The Wall last year at Manc ENA, it was excellent but I would say that it was that excellent it was just like listening to the CD and watching a vid of it all.  In short what I'm trying to say is that whilst I loved it, it didn't feel that significant.  Go get yourself a dvd of it and turn up the volume to 11

Mrs. D's brother went to that gig. He said the same as you. He enjoyed it but he said the only gripe he had was there was a bald bloke who was wearing a Stranglers t-shirt and who at various dramatic pauses in the show kept loudly asking people "When does the film start? I'll miss me last train to Leeds if they don't get their skates on" whilst spraying them with half devoured crips from his gob. Some people eh. Tsk!

I must have a doppelganger then, I had a corporate ticket and was in one of the boxes.  Plus I rarely eat crisps.

BTW that doppelganger not only has great taste in music but he must be bloody handsome too, bald or not

Funny you should mention that as it was one of the things floating about in the back of my head that meant I wasn't as irritated as I might have been at missing out.

There's something not entirely right about live performances being too slick although I assume there will be plenty of visuals to amuse the concert goers to death.

I saw the rest of Pink Floyd play their thang back in something like the mid-nineties? In fact, I sort of ended up seeing them twice as the temporary stand I was sat in decided to collapse during the opening number.

Now that's what I call a proper special effect.

* Stick and ball. Heh, heh! *

The 'visual effects' weren't that special imho, probably cos I've seen the Earls Court vid.  I also saw War Of The Worlds at Livpool Arena a couple of years ago, and that was disappointing visually too, but the sound was great.

i was rhinking about these big gigs last night when forced to sit through the Brits.  The lighting etc are marvellous but the more money and razzamatazz at a gig, the less heart, soul and 'connection' with the band there is, imho.

They're apparently going to "cost" me an XXL Man City shirt.

* I'll get the Grindstress to buy it.

It was really quite good, especially as I managed to nab a free parking spot. Result!

I especially liked the anti-war and anti-corporate stuff that went right over the head of the watching Septics.
