Good day to you all.

Sadly, i am here to report worrying news regarding Michael McCann.  Please be aware that I do this with no feelings of pride or happiness, but it is a necessary act if only for the good of this fine forum.

After practically taking over yet another book 'do' at Waterstones Leeds, I had the good fortune to engage in conversation with McCann, in Whitelocks tavern.  And I had to sit down when he revealed a shocking er revelation to me.

Now you know he has a book out about Being a David Bowie Fan in Leeds (titled something like that anyway) and i was enquiring on how it had all fared, and so on.  and Mr McCann said to me, seriously and honestly - 'I can't wait for David Bowie to die so the book will really take off'.

I will leave you to your own thoughts on this note, but it genuinely pains me to tell tales.  I just think you deserved to know, this is hurting me just to type it.  tryyryo.gif

That's truly shocking. Imagine if Bowie was knocked down and killed outside Mike's Carpets - I'd smell a rat.

And a laughing gnome, I would smell a laughing gnome.

Interestingly, did you know that in Croatia as well as Montenegro, it is illegal to smell gnomes, regardless of whether they are laughing or not?

Mick McCann is a callous fuck. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There, I've said it.

Re: Waterstones. Was it that Anthony Clavane thing I have seen posters for? And was it full of a load of local writers stuck up each others bottoms, saying how great Leeds is as a city? I've got twenty quid that says it was.

Mick McCann is great, and 'callous' is possibly one of the least appropriate words to describe him i reckon

I was there and I can assure anyone with such suspicions that I was stuck up no one's arse and I saw no other such antics going on.  anything with Ian McMillan involved is going to be innocent and great fun, imho.

Did anyone call Mr McCann a transexual again?

Anthony Clavane was on Radio Leeds this morning plugging his book, with the briefest mention about some statue or other. It was so brief a mention, that a pigeon farted, and I missed who the statue was in honour of, though by rights it should be for Leeds's greatest living Leeds' person, Mr McCann.

It wouldn't take much material. In fact a small packet of plasticine would probably be enough to make a life-size replica of him riding a horse.

I think its one of the most appropriate words to describe him. Anybody who trips up blind people on Armley Town Street is pretty despicable in my book.

*makes up stuff for no other reason than to drag Micks reputation through the mud*

Despicable yes, but not callous

The tripping up is bad enough, but kicking their guide dogs is crossing the line. He's sick. There, I've said it.

Its Me Leb, the Dockster. I think Micks rigged it to wind me up. I wouldn't put it past him. But at least I'm not blind, then I'd really be in trouble.

I never wanted to say anything before as he had taken me (and Dock) into his confidence and I thought no-one would believe me either .... but .... he did say something similar to me a few months ago opposite Leeds Town Hall during the away game to Middlesbrough about the Pale Think Duke and his heart condition of a few years ago

I was SHOCKED

As long as you had azure blue mascara and a hint of 'Midnight Promise' rouge on, then I'm not bothered, because then it would be a bona fide impression. I love make-up me.

But if Ihad a lightening stirke across my face then I'd be a hero. Its double standards, that what it is.
